Veckans klänning: Bomullspoplin med rosor.

 

Veckans klänning blev en poplindröm med rosor på! Åh poplin, detta underbara tyg. Det måste vara världens vackraste tygnamn dessutom. Tunt och lite krispigt och med en helt slät yta. Det var lite trixigt att zickzacka, och jag fick gå ner i nåltjocklek till 60, men när man sydde dubbla lager sen på de vanliga sömmarna så gick det bra. Blixtlåset var lite svårare den här gången, jag testade att sy det på min egen maskin med vanlig pressarfot. Det funkade men blev lite glidigt. Jag försökte göra en stickning längst med blixtlåset på rätsidan för att hålla ihop flärparna som döljer det, men det gick inte alls utan blixtlåspressarfot. Jag kastade ner kanterna för hand på baksidan, men flärparna håller fortfarande inte ihop helt, så blixtlåset syns lite. Vi får se om jag ids fixa till det. Inprovningarna vid bysten blev mycket bättre, men vid svanken behöver jag fixa lite mer för att det ska bli perfekt. I övrigt tycker jag att den blev väldigt fin :) 

Dress of the week: Cotton poplin with roses. 

Oh poplin, you darling fabric. And the worlds most beautiful fabric name. Thin and a bit crisp with a very smooth surface. It wasn't very easy to zigzag, I had to change to a 60 needle, but when sewing double layers at the regular seams, it worked just fine. The zipper was a bit trickier this time, since I tried to sew it on my machine with the regular foot. It was ok, but a bit slippery. I tried to make a seam on the outside of the dress to keep the edges of the fabric in place covering the invisible zipper, but it didn't work out at all without the zipper foot. I sewed it by hand on the backside, but the edges that's supposed to be covering still show a little to much zipper. We'll see if I have the strenght to give it another try. The pleats at the bust turned out much better on this one, but I have to work a little more with the one at the lower back to make it perfect. Apart from that I think this one turned out very nice :)
